A BIT ABOUT US

Our Story

We started Freestone Sales Group as an extension of our passions for the outdoors. We’ve been backpacking, fishing, biking and skiing in the Rockies for the majority of our lives. We currently spend our time fishing the free flowing waters of the Arkansas River and biking the extensive trail system that the Arkansas River Valley has to offer. The name Freestone was inspired by the river’s constant movement of water over rock and sand that continuously changes the landscape.
Freestone Sales Group is a partnership created from a vision to elevate relationships as well as sound business practices in the specialty outdoor market. Our focus is to bring each retail relationship high-quality service and consistent support through on-site training, creative events, effective communication and meaningful partnerships. Our strength as a sales agency is our ability to adapt and innovate our services in the ever changing retail scene.
FSG currently represents Oboz Footwear, NEMO Equipment, SockSmith and Splitter Designs throughout CO, NM, UT and WY.

OUR TEAM

Corbin Biehler, Principal

Corbin, a lot like his business partner Stephen, grew up looking for ways to be closer to the mountains. Being from west Texas, the access was limited and nothing was closer than an 6hr-8hr drive into the high country. In his early 20’s, he took a job working at a local outdoor shop, The Mountain Hideaway, as a sales associate. This is where he would cut his teeth, learning the in’s and out’s of retail. Within a year he moved his way up from part time sales associate, to a full time Manager then Buyer role for the shop. This gave him the opportunity to hone-in his skill set for buying, merchandising and staff management by attending private line showings, attending national buying shows like Outdoor Retailer, along with educational seminars during the show. After working the floor for 5 years and growing tired of traveling to the mountains every weekend, he and his wife decided to uproot from their hometown and chase their dream of living closer to the mountains. This led them to Denver, Colorado. Moving without a job, Corbin reached out to an old friend from college, who connected him with John Dornfeld and Mountain Trading. John, a long time Independent Rep in the Outdoor Industry, welcomed Corbin’s passion for retail and his love for the outdoors. John gave Corbin a part-time job to see if he could handle the Sub Rep lifestyle. At the time, it was no small task, as Mountain Trading represented 7 states, from Colorado to Arizona, all the way over to Texas. This is where Corbin and John partnered for the next 6 years, managing the substantial growth of Kühl in the outdoor independent realm. During this timeframe, Corbin earned the respect of his retail partnerships and was co-awared GOA’s “Agency of the Year” in 2017, then proceeded to earn “Rep of the Year” in 2018.

Stephen Nance, Principal

From a young age Stephen was a climber, skier and fly fisherman.  He could support those habits best in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.  His career in the outdoor industry started with the Estes Park Mountain Shop in Estes Park, CO.  There he would learn the basics of retail along with responsibilities as a assistant buyer for the fly fishing department.  Soon after, his excitement for the mountaineering/skiing/climbing lifestyle outgrew what the Mountain shop could support, so he moved down to Boulder, CO to pursue his dream of becoming an expert dirt bag skier and climber.  There he worked his way through the ranks, from floor staff to Sales/Operations Manager and head boot fitter.  After 5 years there, it was time for the next step in his career.  He landed a sub rep position with The Raven Workshop that represented many different lines including Ibex Clothing, Oboz Footwear, Nemo Camping Equipment, Dakine, and Pivot Cycles.  Stephen focused on the outdoor category brands in the agency and grew the brands exponentially while representing for The Raven Workshop.  In 2018 Stephen proposed a buyout to the Principal Rep, Eric Miller, which he accepted.

Tres Binkley, Sales Representative

From his first rep job back in 2009 until now, Tres’ motto has always been “Follow what you are passionate about and things will work out”. Tres' passions are in the mountains! Whether it's two wheels, two feet, or skis, moving efficiently and pushing himself outside has always been the goal. Since 1999 he has worked in the outdoor industry and it continues to be his focus. Starting in 2009, he went to work as a rep with Bill Chandler and Nomad; representing Mountain Hardwear, Montrail, Katadyn, DarnTough, SnowPeak and Buff. For the past 10 years he had the opportunity to work with many brands all over the southeast and central US. In 2011 he started his most recent work with Patagonia, in the Associate Rep program. Soon after starting the program, he moved into a Sales Rep position for Texas and Oklahoma.  After 7 years in Texas, it was time to get back to the mountains. Tres connected with Corbin and Stephen
